Helen began doing yoga when her children were babies. Her shoulders and back ached
after years behind a drawing table as an illustrator. She found yoga eliminated many everyday aches & pains,
brought her stress relief, awareness of her body & mind and contenment into her life.
Inspiring others to honor their bodies and experience the countless benefits of yoga
led Helen to get certified to teach yoga. She has been teaching 6-7 classes per week since 2007.
Helen completed her 200 Hour Teacher Training Certificate and she is a 200 Registered Yoga
Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, the national register of certified yoga teachers. For more info about the

She was trained in
VariYoga, a style developed by Andrea Fournet and Bryan Fowler of
the Arkansas Yoga Center in Fayetteville, AR (
www.aryoga.com ). They are both 500 ERYT (Educational Registered Yoga Teacher) instructors with strong foundations in various traditional
Yoga styles, including
Anusara, Iyengar, and Viniyoga, hence VariYoga.
Helen earned a Bachelor of Fines Arts in Illustration and Design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design
and spent 16 years as an illustrator in Kansas City, Des Moines, St. Louis, Albuquerque and Carthage.

Amy Winetraub a Kundalini Yoga Instructor, founder of the LifeForce Yoga for Depression
Center in Pheonix. Her book, "Yoga for Depression" has been widely embraced. She places great emphasis on just
getting onto your mat and breathing a great place for people who haven't exercised (and don't want to yet) to start.

Rolf Gates an Ashtanga Instructor who runs a yoga studio in New York City and owned his own
studio in Boston. Rolf co-authored the book, "Meditations from the Mat", a day by day meditation to enlighten your path
to becoming a happy yogi.

Desire Rumbaugh, an Anusara Instructor who trained directly under John Friend, the founder
of Anusara yoga. Anusara yoga shares the importance of the Universal Principals of Alignment which enable the body to
attain lightness and painfree poses.

Lilias Folan, the mother of yoga in America. She brought yoga into peoples homes in
the 70's and 80's on PBS tv. Her workshop was titled, Yoga Gets Better with Age and authored
a book by the same name. In both she shared her love for yoga and how it truely is accessible for every age.
